"It was a tough fight, there isn't really much I can say about it. I went out there and I just really never got in my groove. Took a big punch, got rocked. He gave me a couple pounds on the ground and I didn't recover. I was rattled when he got the choke and I just never got back," Bowles said.

The awkwardness of teammates fighting each other is being lived out at Team Miller's practice. Miller is stepping back and not coaching either fighter, and allowing the fighters to choose their own cornermen. Johnny Bedford and John Dodson are squaring off, with Bedford fighting with a chip on his shoulder. He wants to get Dodson back for serving as a mole for Team Bisping, but also wants to make it to the finals of the show.
Bantamweight semifinal: Johnny Bedford (Team Miller) vs. John Dodson (Team Miller)
Round 1: The two chose to stay on their feet for the majority of the first round. Dodson did a good job of avoiding Bedford's strikes until about two minutes in, when Bedford briefly pulled inside for a clinch. Bedford got a takedown at 1:40, but Dodson sprung right back to his feet. In the final seconds of the round, Dodson caught a kick, and used it to knock Bedford down.
Curiously, both corner referred to their fighters as John throughout the bout. With two fighters from the same team with the same name, wouldn't last names make it easier? Miller, on the sidelines, yelled, "Fight to win, guys!" in between rounds.
Round 2: Bedford was more aggressive in the second round, landing more strikes early on. Dodson landed an uppercut that knocked Bedford out cold. He followed him to the ground with hammer fists, but they were unnecessary. Dodson won a spot in the finals with a nasty KO.
"Dodson was so fast that the ref couldn't even get there in time to stop it," Dana White said. The doctors asked Bedford where he was, and he answered, "I'm in Ohio." Yikes.
Next, the focus goes to Diego Brandao and Bryan Caraway. During prep for Caraway's bout, he told Team Miller that he vomits before most of his fights. To make Caraway feel better, Miller confesses that whenever he prepares for a fight, he can always hear a voice saying, "Just quit this and work at McDonald's."
During weigh-ins, Bisping proposed a side bet on his fighter, which Miller accepts. Afterwards, the house erupts into a game of beer pong and fighters riding bikes into the pool, but it winds up fairly tame in comparison to other TUF parties.
Featherweight semifinal: Diego Brandao (Team Bisping) vs. Bryan Caraway (Team Miller)
Round 1: Caraway starts with a clinch and knees, but Brandao breaks away and shows good takedown defense. Caraway returns to the clinch and drives Brandao into the fence, but Brandao gets out. With two minutes left in the round, Brandao rocked Caraway with a hook and then threw a knee that sent him the ground. Caraway recovered and got back to his feet, only to be hit again and thrown down to the ground. Brandao chased him around the cage with strikes, but somehow, Caraway survived. Finally, he fell to the ground, rolled on his back, and Brandao finished the bout with a final punch.
After the bout, Dana White said that Brandao and his finishing power will transition easily to the UFC.
Saturday's finals are T.J. Dillashaw vs. John Dodson and Diego Brandao vs. Denis Bermudez. White says that out of all the seasons of "The Ultimate Fighter," that these are the most talented fighters in the finals.

Louis Gaudinot interview: Green-haired little guy fighting to secure a spot in 125-pound division
Reality shows are rarely a true glance at reality and the same goes for "The Ultimate Fighter." Sure the fights are real, but the cast members aren't always battling in their true weight divisions.
During the 14 seasons of TUF, loads of fighters have chosen to bail from their natural weight class and move up simply for a shot at the big leagues.
Louis Gaudinot and several other flyweight did so this year on TUF 14.
The 5-foot-3 Gaudinot, a true 125er went for broke. He lost in the round of 8, but he's been invited back for tomorrow night's TUF 14 Finale where he hopes to not only win, but make a lasting impression so he can be a mainstay in the soon-to-be-established UFC 125-pound divsion.
"When I was on the show, every time I saw Dana [White], you know me (John) Dodson, (Josh) Ferguson, we used to bug him about when the division was coming," Gaudinot told ESPN1100/98.9 FM in Las Vegas. "[...] I'm a top 10 at flyweight. It's kind of frustrating that that's the only division the UFC doesn't have."
Gaudinot lost a three-round battle against Dustin Pague. The 5-9 Pague simply overpowered the diminutive New Yorker over the final half of fight. He has the same challenge tomorrow night against another 5-9 fighter in Johnny Bedford.
"On the show, he wanted to face Josh, who's also a 125er. Then he wanted to fight Dodson, who's also 125er. So I've gone around calling him the flyweight bully because he likes to pick on people who are smaller than him," said Gaudinot.
Gaudinot says the TUF 14 Finale will be different. His lack of size will help him.
"But his size advantage isn't going to be that much of an advantage. It's going to be harder for him to shoot on me and get low," Gaudinot said. "I'm going to be able to close the distance becaus I think I have better kickboxing than he does. I don't care how tall he is."
Gaudinot is a plus-190 underdog against Bedford. In the 135-pound title fight, Gaudinot chose Dodson to pull the upset at +190 over T.J. Dillishaw. He went with the favorite in Diego Brandao (-350) over Dennis Bermudez in the 145-pound fight.

Keith Jardine gets Strikeforce middleweight title shot
Earlier this week, we mentioned that Strikeforce's first main card event for 2012 is scheduled for January 7, and that the expected main event is Tim Kennedy vs. middleweight champ Luke Rockhold. That turned out to be two thirds true.
MMA Fighting reports that the main event will actually feature Rockhold taking on Keith Jardine, not Kennedy. Jardine's last bouts were a draw with Gegard Mousasi, wins over Aron Lofton and Francisco France in smaller promotions, and then a five-fight losing streak dating back to UFC 96.
Kennedy is 4-1 in his last five fights, with the one loss coming to Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in a title fight. He has wins over Robbie Lawlor, Melvin Manhoef, Trevor Prangley -- who Jardine lost to -- and Zak Cummings.
Yeah, I don't get it, either. I'm not the only one, as my Twitter timeline exploded with a collective, "Whaaaaa?" when the news hit late last night. Kennedy has lobbied for the title fight for months, but recently told Cagewriter that he doesn't care where he fights, as long as he fights good guys. Perhaps the Strikeforce and UFC gurus have a plan for Kennedy that we're not privy to; otherwise, there is not much logic behind this bout.

Brett Rogers sentenced to 60 days in jail for assault
Former Strikeforce heavyweight star Brett Rogers was sentenced to 60 days in jail for the assault that left his wife with a golf-ball sized wound on her head and without a tooth. He will also be on probation for three years, and was given credit for 26 days behind jail. He pleaded guilty to third-degree assault.
Rogers was arrested in June for the incident. Witnesses saw him hitting his wife while she was on the ground. They said blood was streaming down her face. He was cut from the Strikeforce roster not long after the arrest.
His last win in a cage came in October of 2010. After winning 10 straight fights to start his career, he dropped four of his final five. The losses were to Fedor Emelianenko, Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett and most recently, UFC and Bellator veteran Eddie Sanchez on a Titan Fighting Championship card.

UFC 143′s Josh Koscheck a Nick Diaz fan into Super Bowl weekend event
Josh Koscheck's got a big fight on his hands on February 4, as he looks to knock Carlos Condit out of title contention at UFC 143. Considering he's only one fight removed from a dominating loss to Georges St-Pierre, a win won't get him another shot at GSP. In an interview with MMAWeekly.com, Koscheck says that those circumstances, among other things, have made him a Nick Diaz fan into the fight card on Super Bowl weekend:
"I like the Diaz kid. He brings something similar to what I bring to the table. He's not afraid to say what's on his mind... Realistically, I think GSP is a strategist and GSP is probably gonna come out with a great game plan. That's where he can play it safe and get the victory... I'd love to see Diaz win because when I beat Carlos Condit Feb. 4. That means me and Diaz is for a title shot. And that means it's a big fight because he talks really good, and I believe I can talk up the fight really good."

UFC suspends Chris Leben for one year following failed drug test at UFC 138

When Chris Leben fought Michael Bisping in Birmingham, England at UFC 89 in 2008, he was suspended for a year when he tested positive for steroids. Fast forward three years, and Leben has been suspended for a year once again after a fight in Birmingham.
The UFC announced on Monday that they have suspended Leben for a year following a positive test for the painkillers Oxycodone and Oxymorphone after his fight with Mark Munoz at UFC 138.
"I like Chris and I want him to do well, but based on his actions, he's been suspended for one year," UFC President Dana White said in a statement. "If he needs professional help, we are going to be there for him. We want to see him succeed not only in the Octagon, but in his personal life."
"I would like to make it known that I fully accept this suspension and apologize for embarrassing the UFC, my friends and family, and sport of mixed martial arts," Leben said. "I'm learning that I'm my own worst enemy sometimes. I can't succeed in the Octagon or in life behaving this way. I've got to make some real changes over the next year and I'm going to focus on getting my life and career back on track. Again, I'm sorry to the UFC and fans that've supported me since my days on The Ultimate Fighter."
Penick's Analysis: Sadly this isn't the least bit surprising. It's another in a long line of issues that Leben has had throughout his professional career. Whether it's been steroids, painkillers, DUIs, arrests, he hasn't seemed to learn from his past mistakes, and here he is in this situation again. The abundance of painkiller issues is very widespread, not just in MMA, but in all sports, and out of sports as well. Considering the battles Leben has been in throughout his career, this is a very big concern when the painkiller issue is brought in as well. I sincerely hope Leben can get some help to deal with any potential issues that may come about from the painkiller use, but this may ultimately be the end of his time in the UFC.
